How to access the service
Referrals to the wards are made through the crisis resolution and home treatment team.
A referral comes to the crisis team and they complete a face to face assessment. Part of the assessment looks at whether the patient can be treated in the community providing home intensive treatment.
If this is not possible the patient is offered admission to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
If the patient is unwilling to come into hospital and an inpatient stay is deemed necessary, a Mental Health Act assessment will be completed.

The Trust supports helpful and positive contact between children and young people and their parents and carers. We operate a child visiting policy which applies to all children under 18 years old.
To make sure that visits can safely take place, visits with children must be prearranged with ward staff. A responsible adult must accompany children and young people throughout their visit.
During a visit, children and young people must only have direct contact with the client for whom permission has been given for those children/ young people to visit
The wards offer flexibility to visitors depending on need.
