Moving on from CAMHS can be a difficult time. We care about making sure changes to how you are supported are right for you, made in the right way and happen at the right time.
This could be back to the care of your GP or other services, or if you have ongoing mental health needs this could be to adult services.
We’re ready to help make sure you’re listened to and supported fully as you move into adulthood and will help you understand how your treatment and care can change when you do.
Why am I moving on from CAMHS?
You could be moving on from CAMHS for a number of reasons including:
- you no longer need our help and support because you’ve taken steps to feeling better
- another service will be of more help to you
- you are 18 years old and have ongoing mental health needs, you may be transitioned to adult services
What happens if I don’t feel ready to move on from CAMHS?
You will be involved in any decisions about your care and you and your parent or carers will be at the centre of planning. We can talk about your worries and how best to support you during this uncertain time.
Moving to adult services
Moving from CAMHS to adult mental health services can be a difficult time. You will be involved in any decisions and plans about moving to adult services.
